What Is Networking?

Networking is a supportive system of sharing information and services among individuals and groups having a common interest.

Network is an association of individuals having a common interest, formed to provide mutual assistance, helpful information, or the like (for example: a network of recent college graduates). People can use networks of online friends and group memberships to keep in touch with current friends, reconnect with old friends or create real–life friendships through similar interests or groups. Members can share their interests with other like–minded members by joining groups and forums, they can express themselves by designing their profile page to reflect their personality and so on.

A social network is a social structure made up of individuals or organizations, which are connected by one or more specific types of interdependency, such as friendship, common interest, business, financial exchange, personal and/or sexual relationships, or relationships of beliefs, knowledge or prestige.

With the growing use of social networking by business professionals, there is a growing number of social networking sites focused on business users and meeting their needs.
Some networking can also help members find a job or establish business contacts.
